Changing the World with Travel Photography

Anyone who has ever talked to me for more than five minutes knows how much I love travel. I dream of travel at night. I breathe travel. Everything about me says “She LOVES traveling!”

Which is why you will often find me liking pictures people share of their travels. There is just something magical about exploring the world. In fact, sum me up in one word and it would be “adventure”.

It’s like the old saint once said: The world is a book. Those who do not travel read only one page.

How very true. Nothing blurs geographic borders and cultural differences like travel. How could you possibly understand someone if you have never seen them in their own environment?

I think if more people traveled more often, the world would be a smaller and kinder place. People would see each other more as brothers and sisters instead of as competitors.

Truth however is – not everyone gets to travel. Things happen. People have different priorities and different incomes, so not everyone gets to travel as much as I and many others do. So here is my word of advice to those who do travel a lot: Take a camera with you!

Take pictures. Take as many pictures as you can. Then share them. Share them via social media. Allow people to vicariously live through them. You may not realize this, but it does help make the world a better place.

Most phones now take pretty good pictures. If you want professional grade pictures, consider a DLSR camera with longer range lens. If that is too bulky, pick up one of the new mirrorless travel cameras that are all the rage right now. They are light and yet take pretty incredible pictures.

Last but not least, get out and see things. People around the world would probably love to learn more about the area you live in. It’s probably someones perception of paradise. Get out, take pictures, and share them. The world will be a better place for it!
